Priority Manager

The Priority Manager training is delivered in 5 phases over a period of approximately 2 months. The course comprehensively uses practical processes and tools to help you manage workload, projects and time more effectively. Instead of reacting to the tasks that come your way, you will plan your workload proactively and use techniques that eliminate waste of time, materials or resources. Integrated with Lotus Notes or Microsoft Outlook, the Priority Manager becomes your essential assistant in getting more out of your day.

The five phases are listed below. Personal Coaching takes place approximately 2-3 weeks after the Priority Manager workshop. The Priority Planning Workshop is scheduled for 4-6 weeks after the Priority Manager workshop.

PHASE 1: PRE-BRIEF

Delegates are contacted before the first workshop so that they have the opportunity to discuss the content of the programme and to give some thought to their personal objectives and desired outcomes.

PHASE 2: THE PRIORITY MANAGER WORKSHOP (1 DAY)

Prioritising
Time Management
Task Management
Effective Delegation
Planning & Organising
Information Management
Communication Planning
Stress Management
Decision Making
This workshop shows participants how to 'Do the Job Right'. The skills and best practice behaviours, which influence personal productivity, are taught in a practical, hands-on manner. Delegates put them into practice immediately.

Delegates' choice of tools (MS Outlook, Lotus Notes, Novell GroupWise or a Personal Organiser) supports The Priority Manager system of techniques and disciplines, essential to achieving long term effective management skills.

During the workshop, delegates work on their own workload, supported by their own diaries, goals, to-do lists etc. They leave with systems set up for the next day. Individuals quickly become more efficient, effective and in control, and in a better position to achieve work/life balance.

PHASE 3: PERSONAL COACHING SESSION (1 - 1 hours)

Understand and focus on delegate's own work and reinforce the processes to best manage it.
Identify benefits experienced since the first workshop and build on them.
Provide help and support to implement changes in problem areas.
Motivate the individual to practise and maintain the required self-discipline.
Tailor the processes to suit the individual's needs and the challenges in their job.
When asked to change comfortable, long established habits without personal follow-up, individuals will often revert to their old, less effective, ways of working.

In order to make long term, sustainable changes in their behaviour and thinking, delegates participate in a Personal Coaching session, at their place of work.

This supportive session is seen as the key to behavioural changes which will achieve measurable, beneficial results.

PHASE 4: PRIORITY PLANNING WORKSHOP (HALF DAY)

System thinking:
Implementing 'lean' processes to meet customer demands.
Creative thinking and mindmapping.
Strategic Goal setting and delivery:
Delegates work on their own objectives, personal plans & strategies.
Learning:
Delivering continuous improvements in personal and interpersonal productivity.
Meetings:
Achieving results-driven events.
This final workshop deals with 'Doing the Right Job' and focuses on continuous improvement and achieving longer term goals.

Once the day to day processes have been implemented and individuals feel more in control, they are able to take the skills acquired from the earlier sessions and apply them strategically. They learn how to align work processes to meet customer demands. Participants thereby influence their own productivity, that of their teams and in turn, the business. Delegates focus on the key areas critical to them and the success of their organisation.

PHASE 5: PRIORITY LEARNING LINK

Continuous improvement is vital for us all to stay ahead of the competition and Priority Management offers on-going support, monthly productivity tips and the option of free refresher workshops.
